How do I join the Seattle Windows Networking User Group?
A. You can join the user group by registering
with us to become a member.
Q. What are the requirements for joining the user
group?
A. The only requirement is that you need to
register with the user group. There are no other requirements. Anyone
interested in learning about Microsoft products and technologies may join
the user group.
Q. What are the benefits of becoming a member?
A. Membership has several advantages.
Members will be able to attend the meetings and take advantage of other
benefits, such as specials, giveaways, and drawings. Membership can also
provides access to certain contents on our Web site that is not available to
the public. In addition, members will also be able to take advantage of
specials and promotions offered by our sponsors.
Q. Is there a membership fee for joining the user
group?
A. No. Currently there are no membership dues.
Q. I am changing careers and therefore very new
to the Information Technology (IT). Is this user group appropriate for me?
A. Definitely. Whether you are an experienced network
administrator, an IT Manager, a student at a local school, or a new comer to
IT, you will find lots of useful information and resources by joining our
group. You will also have the opportunity to network with other IT
professionals in the industry. Even if you are an MCT or more experienced
professional, you will get a chance to listen to and learn from Microsoft
MVPs, Microsoft Program Managers and other industry experts with vast
knowledge and experience.
Q. Are user group meetings mandatory?
A. No, attending user group meetings is
voluntary. However, we do ask that you RSVP us so we know how many members
are expected at each meeting and can properly facilitate the meetings.
Q. What if I no longer wish to be a member?
A. Just send us an e-mail and we will delete
your name and contact information from the database.
Q. Is there an easier way to be notified of events
and announcements, such as meetings?
A. Absolutely. Subscribe to the RSS feeds on the
homepage of Windows Networking
User Group. You can easily add the RSS Feed to Microsoft Outlook 2007 or
you can add it to your browser. Most people prefer to add RSS feeds to
Outlook 2007.
Q. I missed the last meeting. Can I get the
PowerPoint presentation?
A. The presentations are available in the
Presentations library on the homepage of this Web site.
Q. Can I bring a friend or a colleague with me to
attend the user group meeting?
A. Yes, you are welcome to bring friends or
colleagues to the meeting. Keep in mind that in order to attend the
meetings, one needs to be a registered member. If your friends are not
registered members they may be able to register at the door. However, to
avoid disappointment we suggest that they register online before they come
to the meeting.
Q. Where can I find the directions to the user group
meeting location?
A. The map and directions to the
user group meeting location are available on the homepage in the Links list.
Q. Is there free parking at the meeting place?
A. Our meetings are held at the
Lincoln Square Center in Bellevue, WA usually on the first Wednesday of each
month. You have to pay for the parking in the underground parking garage if
you leave before 8pm. However, our meetings typically last until 8pm so you
don't have to pay at the exit if you leave after 8pm.
