WNUG monthly meeting - February 3, 2010

Body

Our monthly User Group meeting will be held at the Lincoln Square Center in Bellevue, across from the Bellevue Square Mall at 6:00pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. The meeting will be held in Room 15104, (15th floor, room 104) at the Microsoft's offices in Lincoln Square Center.

Due to the security requirements, non-Microsoft employees must be escorted to the building by a Microsoft employee. We will have a sign on the 2nd floor elevator with instructions and/or contact phone number. Please feel free to contact Chris Avis of Microsoft on his cell at 425-647-3440 if you need assistance.

Our guest speaker this month is Siddharth Bhai. He is a Microsoft Program Manager in the Active Directory product group. He has presented at DEC, TechReady, MVP Global Summit and at other industry conferences. His complete bio is available here.

Siddharth’s presentation topic is"Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory: Diving in to the core” Windows Server 2008 R2 is out and Active Directory has evolved. At the user group session on Active Directory last May, we did an overview of the planned features with a strong focus on manageability. Now it’s time to dive in and take a look under the hood. The AD Recycle Bin feature is here to help out on the day we all dread. What do you need to know and how can you prep to use it? See it in action and understand how it works. You can still join computers to Active Directory domains the same as before, but there is a new way to get the job done. We’ll do a step by step walkthrough of Offline Domain Join. Come learn when you would want to use it.”
